Meet Duck:Say hello to Duck, the cheerful green engine of the Island of Sodor! While his real name is Montague, everyone knows him as Duck—thanks to the way he waddles a bit when he moves, just like a real duck. And he loves his nickname! Proud and hardworking, Duck takes his responsibilities seriously and always tries to set a good example for the other engines.
Engine Number 8
Duck is engine number 8, often sporting his bright yellow number on his side. Sometimes, you’ll see his GWR (Great Western Railway) initials proudly displayed instead, reflecting his heritage as a real-life Great Western pannier tank engine from the UK.
The Great Western Way
Duck believes in doing things “The Great Western Way”—working hard, staying organised, and being polite to everyone around him. He’s the engine who keeps the railway running smoothly, even when others might be causing a little chaos!
Where Duck Works
You’ll often find Duck on the Little Western branch line, working alongside his good friend Oliver and his trusty coaches, Alice and Mirabel. While he isn’t afraid to stand his ground if something doesn’t seem right, Duck always has the best intentions at heart.
Duck proves that pride in your work, dedication, and a little waddling charm can make you a true hero of the railway. 🚂✨
