Freddie is one of those Thomas & Friends characters who instantly makes an impression.

Known by many children as the black and white engine, Freddie is full of energy, confidence,

and enthusiasm—sometimes a little too much!

He’s part of the narrow-gauge railway and brings a very different vibe to the Island of Sodor.

Who Is Freddie?

Freddie is a narrow-gauge steam engine who works alongside engines like Skarloey,

Rheneas, and Sir Handel. With his darker colouring and bold look, he stands out from the

others straight away. Freddie is fast, loud, and always convinced that his way is the best way.

He believes he’s the most exciting engine on the railway—and he’s not shy about telling

everyone else!

While Freddie isn’t unkind, his enthusiasm often gets him into trouble. He rushes jobs, ignores advice, and sometimes forgets that teamwork is just as important as speed.
